The rolling, green hills of the Galilee, Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, and the Golan Heights. What better way to discover your connection with the Bible than visit the places where Jesus walked, delivered teachings of faith, and performed his miracles.
So, if you’re looking to arrange a Christian Holy Land Tour with your church, a trip to the lush region of northern Israel is ideal. What’s more is that we offer a living history site where the pages of the Bible are literally brought to life!
Experience the way of life first hand during the time of Jesus. Discover how people dressed, the daily routines, and their work. Get a glimpse of family life by visiting the ancient Israeli home; discover how the crippled man was lowered inside to so that he, too, could benefit from the Word of God, and be inspired by the simple and virtuous life the people led.
Relive the Book of Ruth and participate in an authentic wheat harvest at Katzrin Village. Gain new insights into the heart-warming story of Ruth and Boaz, learn the laws God gave that govern the harvesting of crops. Recall Ruth’s story in detail as your group participates in the process of cutting and gathering the sheaves, winnowing and grinding grain into flour: a small seed, blessed by God, sprouted and grew, so that we can be nourished physically and spiritually.
Once the wheat has been ground into flour, your church group will use it to make soft, pliable dough and bake pita. Roll out the dough and place it over an open fire. Then break the warm, fresh bread, and savor it dipped in authentic olive oil and fragrant hyssop seasoning.
Visit the old-fashioned wine press or gat, where your group will work together, crushing grapes to produce sweet, flavorful wine.
Olive oil is a common theme in the Bible. It was used for anointing kings and servants of God, blessings, and healing the sick. Learn how the oil was produced, and how it differs from the olive oil used for food, perfumes, cosmetics, and oil lamps.
If visiting during the olive harvest in the fall, participate in our oil production process by the ancient olive press. Our 1,600 year old press is the oldest functioning olive press in Israel! Your church group will work together to press and collect the fresh olive oil which they can either taste or keep as anointing oil.
When visiting Israel, and especially the north, a special spirituality envelops you. There is an energy of days gone by, and Katzrin Village enhances the experience by offering a unique view of ancient biblical life.
Depending on the time of year, your church group can participate in a seasonal activity together with other interactive activities that are offered year-round.
