The Katzrin Village offers a myriad of educational, engaging activities for students in elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as college students.
We ensure a tailor-made experience to suit the type of group as well as the age group. Feel free to contact us to arrange the perfect activity for your Student Educational Tour.
Spring
Participate in the annual wheat harvest and discover ancient culture as you work.
Cut, thresh, and winnow the wheat. Afterwards enjoy warm, tasty whole wheat kernels cooked on a hot skillet with a drizzling of delicious, local honey.
This is a wonderful team building experience, which provides insight into the excitement surrounding the harvest and its ancient customs.
Late Summer – Early Autumn
Enjoy winemaking the traditional way with your cleaned, bare feet, at the old-fashioned wine press. The grape juice is then collected and distributed into small bottles. A village guide will explain the fermentation process, and each participant will receive a small bottle of juice at the end.
Autumn – Early Winter
Allow us to guide you through the steps as you crush and press olives using the oldest functioning olive oil press in the country. Finish off with a bottle of freshly pressed, nutrient-rich olive oil.
Your group can dress up in traditional attire on their tour of Katzrin Village to blend in with the times! This is always a fun experience and the perfect time for a photo opportunity!
Discover the ancient Israeli home with a local village guide. The inhabitant of this unique house will relay accounts of their life and impart a valuable lesson for your students to take home.
Building with Cob – Students get to work with cob, an ancient building material that was vital in the building of homes, where they will learn how to create and apply it. Finding the correct consistency and building a mud oven or sculpting a memento to take home is a wonderful way to relax, have fun, and get your hands dirty.
Make your own pita where participants roll out their own dough and bake over an open fire. Afterwards, savor the fresh, warm bread, dipped in authentic olive oil and hyssop seasoning for a taste that takes you back in time.
