The Talmudic era was the dawn of synagogue prayer and the beginning of the development of the synagogue, which was to become an integral part of the Jewish social fabric.
Kaztrin Village is a living history site dating back to 4 CE, where visitors can discover Jewish life and culture during the Talmudic era.
Tour the ancient village, where, among other fascinating activities, you can explore an ancient Israeli home. This home has been reconstructed on its original foundation, with architecture that reflects the daily life of the times.
The ancient synagogue showcases synagogue culture and the prosperity of the community through its lavish décor, including mosaic flooring and skilfully carved engravings.
Our synagogue also serves as an ideal setting for your wedding, Bar Mitzvah, or Bat Mitzvah celebrations, with an atmosphere reflecting echoes of the past, all with a pastoral backdrop of nature blending with ancient stone.

Katzrin Village is a living history site, which means that we offer engaging, hands-on learning through our interactive activities:
Visit the old-fashioned wine press, where you can crush grapes with cleaned, bare feet and learn about the fermentation process.
Dress up in traditional garb to fit into the surroundings!
Take part in an authentic wheat harvest. Cut, gather, and winnow the sheaves, and then enjoy hot wheat kernels cooked in a skillet and drizzled with local honey.
Bake your own pita, ancient style! Place over an open fire and then savor fresh, warm bread dipped in olive oil and fragrant hyssop seasoning.
Sculpt your creations when building with cob. Learn all about this vital building material, used in construction to this day.
Our unique Lantern Tour is especially beautiful, with a tour of the village under the stars at night.
Take a break for lunch or dinner with meat or dairy options for group meals, or order our wholesome and delicious picnic in a basket, where you can enjoy it under shady trees beside the pomegranate grove. (All meals are kosher lemehadrin.)
Please contact us and we’d be delighted to arrange a tailor-made tour to suit your needs
